Well storm Dennis, although a damp squib in the Hay on Wye area has certainly dumped some water on the upper river with a substantial spate now on the way down and will affect everyone by some time tomorrow with heavy colour of course.    Looks set to clear out all the crap and leave the river in a cleaner state though no doubt  sewage works and many other outlets will see the chance to get rid thier crap too. It was ever thus.

A fish has been reported at last from the Abernant beat Edw junction pool taken by Richard Boote/

Not sure of the weight but double figures it seems.  No method given. (Latest.  11lb coloured cock fish on fly)

Lots of fish on the Towy  it seems. Abercothi are now on 75 fish.  A friend had two yesterday 18lbs and 10lb -fresh -on a Rapala.  It too is now in full blown spate.   Heaven only knows whats happened to our fish!!

Saw the below prawn pattern in this months Trout and Salmon.   Looks pretty good to me and may well be very useful when we get some fish.

Another page from the journal.  Hope its still of some interest Might send it to WUF!!!!
