Nothing much new on the salmon front. Conditions remain unchanged and look likely to remain so in the short to medium term. A few thunderstorms otherwise the seige continues.
LATEST Don Macer Wright reports two fish, 12lb yesterday on fly from Wyebank and on the 11th
a 10lb coloured fish from Courtfiled.
Of course today is the 16th June and the opening of the river coarse fishing season. It means of course that many beats will now be well populated with those principally after the barbel. Sure as hell wont be much conflict with salmon angler I would have thought.
A friend of mine has already had 5 barbel and a couple of chub from a beat below Hereford
Best barbel 10lbs and 10lbs 6ozs Sign of the times guys, sorry Grit your teeth.

The algae scandal goes on with the Ithon at the forefront. Two pics here taken a couple of days ago the first well up stream at llanbister where the river was reasonably clear. However a different story down at Crossgates having passed through poultry rearing territory.
I see the comments made to the press by WUF CEO regarding the scandal of the situation. Well excuse me but you have been working hand in glove with EA/NRW for 22 years or so whilst all this was going on.
You must have seen it happening, did you not ask the questions, did you not object to any of the poultry farms application. How many claims have been made regarding improvement in particular to the issue of improved water quality, now shown to be a joke. The whole thing is turning into an ecological nightmare as we watch seemingly powerless to get you or the authorities to act. One also wonders just what part, if any, the WUF trustees play in all this scenario.
Another fly you might find is successful on the Wye A Pot bellied Pig . Brown or red.
Ok on singles doubles or a small brass tube as the one in the picture.
