Yesterday.   12lb fish from Wyebank late yesterday.. No other details.

Had a call today from Ernie Coleman, captor of 4 early fish from his beat just above Whitney. The first was a very big fish which he conservatively estimate at 25lbs.  However having measured the fish and then been shown a weight for length table he suggested that he seriously underestimated it's weight.  The length he recorded was 49 1/2 inches long, as big or bigger than the infamous llangoed fish.  Ernies fish was in pristine condition. He did not measure its girth and had no camera and was anxious to get the fish back in safely which he did.  So, how heavy was it -we shall never know but at that length and enormous fish.   Her landed all four of his fish fishing alone and he's 87 years old.  Some feat I'm sure you will agree.

Amazing catch at Wyesham today by George Adams with his F/C
10lbs, 13lbs 16lbs and 32 pounds.    Not many UK rivers would better that eh simon.   .What a feat that would have been had they been fly caught.

Red Lion. 14lb fish on fly to Tim Hughes.  See picture.  Looks like a really lovely fresh fish so perhaps the odd one is pushing through as far as there at least.  Everything you could want in a springer.
