Another report of an amazing one day catch;

My H  Morshead has had a wonderful morning commencing with a 42" fish from the Legg meadow pool fishing from far bank towards pipes/alders est 27 lb before breakfast followed by an 18 and a half and 14 and a quarter mid morning, both weighed in net, from the cribs in Thomas Wood, the 14 pounder from off the crib on the far bank. The 20 pounder was on a black and silver Toby and the other two on blue and silver 2" devon with half ounce spiral lead.
Lower Symonds Yat. 12lbs  to Ray Fisher
Wyesham 18 fish on fly for Joe Cobley.
Late report 1st May Goodrich.  14lbs to Daniel Warwick and 14lbs to Mike Sutton. Spinning and 16lb fish for Ralh Hanraads from Goodrich on Sunday

One of two fish taken this morning by Nathan Jubb from Little Run. Upper Bigswier.15 and 17lbs on fly, size 6 Cascade.

I see WUF have mentioned the fish I referred to yesterday caught by Mr Coleman.  They say facts are 'according to RWGA''   Not so. The facts are those reported by Mr Coleman himself who took the trouble to ring.  We don't make anything up on here.
Mr Coleman himself didn't think it was 40lbs and according to the Atlantic Salmon Federation table it could weigh 38 1/2lb. So although I can understand why WUF, for their own reasons, would want to make it a 40lb fish, no one else does.

Strange isn't it how some people try to score points.See below a comment posted by Dai Watkins. ex WUF employee on a salmon fishing forum. Total untrue but consistent with his previous employment experience.

"WSA and RWGA are by far the least accurate of the Wye figures and at best are generally a day or two behind WUF's reports. Most of their reports are taken from the WUF Salmon Blog and on a number of occasions just 'copied and pasted' onto the RWGA site. Very rarely does a fish appear reported on the RWGA site ahead of WUF's Salmon Blog.W"

Many of the reports are sent direct to us - with photographs- rather than a bland statement of a fish caught somewhere by someone which happens too often.  does it matter -the main thing is it's accurate!!  Oh and I don't have 27 staff as backup. I do have other things to do>
