As river levels continue to drop and dry weather persisting over the weekend things will be more difficult now on upper beats who will only have fish that are already there with little possibility of new arrivals.
I understand three fish were lost on the lower river at Upper Bigswier yesterday and others seen so its likely most of the action will be around Ross and beats further down though beats up to Hereford area could still expect fish.

Below is the first fish of the season from Upper Bigswier. 15lbs to Nathan Jubb on a Cascade tube

Others today,

: Courtfield: 2 for Don Macer-Wright this evening. 19lbs and 10lbs on a yellow belly Devon minnow. Run of fish seen going through.
: Wyebank: 2 today, 1 for Andy Kennard (and another lost) and an 11lber for Hewent.
: Wyesham: 18lbs for Mr G Richards, Washings; 16lbs Joe Cobley FC one lost on fly
: Boatside: 13lb fresh salmon to Mike Hopkins (
: Lower Symonds Yat: 4th of the day, 12lbs for a syndicate member.
: Lower Symonds Yat: 15.5lb sealiced fish from Island run.

: Lower Symonds Yat: 2 fish to Martin Bowler on spinner today, 19lb sea liced from Slaughter Crib and 14lb from Martin's Bar.

James Thorpe with his first Wye salmon caught at Sheepwash today.  13lbs or so.  Nice one indeed and who wouldn't look pleased.

Two fish were reported 'below Ross' whatever that means . Seems that ex severn anglers are tryng for whatever reason to bring their regime of secrecy and closed shop tactics to the Wye.   Most anglers are generous in their information to others and these tactics only muddy the waters,.  If anglers are unable to give their names to their catch  then we won't be recording them and neither should anyone else in my opinion.
