Seems yesterday salmon caught at the Nyth was not captured by Geeorge Tricks as originally reported but by Charles Tricks who repeated the feat again today with a 20lb fish. That was probably some battle on the trout rod again.
Also a grilse reported from Fownhope No 5 -recently made more accessable by WUF-apparently
Some potential good news tonight for Welsh rivers and angler inasmuch as John Griffiths, Minister for the natural Environment and architect of the 'open access for canoeists' on Welsh rivers amongst other things appears to have lost his job and will be replaced. The reasons why are not apparent but its possible the hue and cry he caused by his bill may have had something to do with it.
Best be cautious for a while though until we know who his replacement is as he/she may potentially be even more of a threat.
The NRW decision on stocking was I understand to be announced this week though I think we can all guess what the decision will be.
