River starting to drop away now on the upper beats where they should made the best of it in the next couple of days.  Middle and lower beats should be coming more into the picture now but seems pretty quiet down there so far.

Apparently one reported from the Nyth yesterday and one from beat 1 at Whitney on Monday. No details though.  One also from Abernant yesterday 11lb Chris Dobbs.

Fish today.

13lb coloured fish to Lyn Cobley at Ingeston

Two fish this morning from Caemawr.  Andrew Holloway fishing on the free  WSA  'get more rods on the river ticket,' took fish of  11 1/2 and 9 1/2lbs on an Usk Grub.  See pic below.

First two salmon of the season off the Golden Mile today. Both caught by 83 years old Gordon Clamp who travels from North Leicestershire to fish the Wye.  12 and 14lbs .Nice fish too - well done that man!! see pics below.

Two more fish were caught later today at Caemawr by Stuart Reid.  14lbs and 9lbs  Terrific for such a short beat.  Some really nice fish about too.

n.b.  At least one angler we know of is sure he caught the same fish twice, from the same spot in the same pool on different days.
