One reported from the Rectory this morning to Adam Tobin. 15lbs
15lb fly Caught fish from the Red Lion by Rob Olsen.
A 25lb fish from Lower Carrots by Charles Arnold.
Phantom angler 'reports' another fish from Seven Sister!!!!!
Latest. 14lb fish on a mepps from Sheepwash yesterday by Andrew Thorpe.
Fish remain as scarce as hens teeth in most areas with no real sign from the lower river of any substantial runs of 2sw fish so far. Levels are low now on the upper river and if we have a dryish summer that's about it for them.!
Seems some people are unhappy about me revealing the result of the WSFOA Committee declining to respond to the NRW hatchery consultation -thereby putting at risk there own, and our, SNR project. WHY? Does everything have to be kept secret with deals behind closed doors. Wonder if they will now allow their members to actually be involved rather than them having to show support through the WSA. This is the future of the Wye we are talking about and at the moment the future looks less than ideal.
Below are the guys who did get a vote. Who I wonder voted for the non democratic way. Your guess is as good as mine - though of course some are pretty obvious.!
Chairman: M A Timmis
Secretary: S Johnson-Marshall
Treasurer: P Loughran
Committee:
A R Fitzpatrick
J Griffiths QC
G Hemus
P Darling
M Hudson
S J Marsh-Smith
N Odey
M Palfrey
A Pope
D Revill
Strange thing here is that 8 of the above Committee signed in support of the WSA reply to the NRW COnsultation. So how was the vote lost. You have to ask why some of them apparently changed their minds and why and what pressure were they put under to do so. Did the Secretary, who is also secretary of the Local Fishery group and employed by WUF and plainly not an owner also have a vote I wonder. Perhaps the Treasurer had a vote too... I'm only speculating of course but it smacks of another stitch up to me. perhaps we shall know in due course who did what but probably never why.
