Well another day as they say so lets see what this one brings. Upper river look pretty good, middle river improving, lower beats still out for some time.
Seems to me its getting pretty serious the longer time goes on without a fish. Some might suggest they are just late well maybe but how late do you want the springers to be? Looking pretty grim all round though fortunes can suddenly turn I suppose.
Another missing aspect of our river is the lack of swans In this area flocks of 50 or 60 would be out grazing on the fields of winter wheat. Not any more. Only seen one pair in recent weeks. No one seems much bothered though -sign of the times.
