Really big spate on at present just about peaking on the upper river and  down as far as Ross   4 metres or more of water at many venues along the river.

No doubt anything lying around will be disposed of together with all the chicken crap , manure, anabolic digester sludge and other farm chemicals and no doubt the water companies will take the chance to vent all their tanks undetected in the knowledge that it will be well diluted -though it has to end up somewhere obviously.

                                                   BACK TO LAKE NASSER.

Not so much a fishing story this as in all honesty the trip to Lake nasser was not a great success.  We went at the wrong time of year apparently though they didn't tell us this of course, and we struggled to locate many perch.  Only three amongst us and these were small as Nile perch go, a mere forty pounds or so.

However the trip itself had other attractions and this was in fact the country itself. Absolutely amazing and if you ever get the chance go there.   From Cairo we went down to Luxor where Lake Nasser is located  and all the temples there, The Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Elders   Tutankhamuns tomb and plenty of others. Trip to see the Collosi of Memnon and so on.   Overnight rail trip back to Cairo and the pyramids and Sphinx and of course the Cairo museum with King Tuts golden death mask and all the rest of the artifacts contained there.

Walk up to the top chamber in the one pyramids is an experience but one of the others was downwards into the earth to the burial chambers, pretty much a hands and knees job.

Nice country but beware of some of the Egyptians themselves oh and the mad taxi drivers/ !!!!!!!!!!

WSA Strategy Survey

Wye Salmon Association is the only organisation specifically tasking itself with protecting the long-term viability of the Wye salmon. Our objective is to conserve and protect the species, its environment and the rivers biodiversity.  Whilst much of current focus is on tackling the problem of river pollution and ensuring the overall health of the river for the benefit of all users and wildlife we need to secure the long-term viability of salmon as a self-sustaining species in the Wye and its tributaries.

At a meeting in Nov 2021 a group of  members began to consider strategies that could assist WSA in pursuing these aims.

As an angler/owner/interested party we would appreciate your feedback in our online survey. All responses will remain confidential and secure. Thank you in advance for your valuable insights.

Your input will be used to ensure that our strategies and plans continue to reflect our members views.

We are using Microsoft Forms, to field your confidential survey responses.

Closing date for responses is 28/02/2022.
