Stop the mass slaughter of dolphins by the fishing industry in EU waters

374,711 have signed John Hourston’s petition. Let’s get to 500,000!

Thousands of short-beaked common dolphins are being killed by fishing vessels targeting pelagic fish species in EU waters. This barbaric practice is dismissively referred to as ’bycatch’ by the fishing industry.

I’m a volunteer at Blue Planet Society so I can help to conserve our amazing marine wildlife - and I’m determined to help save short-beaked common dolphins from these horrific deaths.

I’m calling on Virginijus Sinkevičius, EU Commissioner for Environment, Oceans and Fisheries, to take urgent action to end this cruel and avoidable mass slaughter of these highly intelligent and much-loved animals.

Please sign petition to help save short-beaked common dolphins.
