Still very quiet everywhere with nothing reported anyway, Still heavy colour on the bottom beats where the odd fish has been seen but virtually nothing reported from the upper river.
River temperatures have shown that the recent fish deaths started with the water at around 20% centigrade and it did rise another degree or so above that. No recent fish deaths as far as I know but one suspects there is not a big head of fish left in the river anyway. Be interesting, if not depressing to see what actually turns up on the redds this autumn.
I see the NFU are in wholesome support of the farming fraternity at this time - no doubt fearful of any insurance claims if any restrictions are to be enforced in any meaningful way.m Pigs might fly!!!

Came across this the other day and just wondered how much it was in the minds of those in charge who have to make decisions that are difficult but which might just make a difference to the problem facing them/us both in local Government and in the Government itself. maybe ourselves too.
"
As someone once said;
“You may be 38 years old, as I am and one
day, some great opportunity stands before you and calls you to stand up for
some great principle, some great issue, some great cause. And you refuse to do it because you are
afraid. You refuse to do it because you want to live longer. Your afraid you might lose your job, or
afraid you will be criticised or that you will lose your popularity or for some
other reason, so you refuse to take the stand.
Well you may go on to live until you are 90
but now you have refused you are just as dead at 38. The cessation of breathing in your life is
but the belated announcement of an earlier death of the spirit."
