I think we are all ,acutely aware of the problems caused by salmon farms to the environment, wild fish stock and disease and escapees.

In late August  50,000 salmon escaped from a farm in Argyll and some are being caught by anglers.

You may have missed this snippet in trout and Salmon last month;

In a telling statement the reveals the true nature of aquaculture FMS explained that any farmed salmon caught should not be be consumed because of the "need to maintain a withdrawal period following any sea lice or medicinal treatments of the farmed fish."

In other words if its fresh from the cages it could basically poison you in some way unless it gets a period of time to neutralise the flesh.   How many tables will it be on tis Christmas with top chef's lining up to promote it.
