Local Hereford Times has a double page spread on the Lugg incident.  As always there are two sides to the story and the local farmer responsible, Mr Jones remains defiant.  I will take em all on he says, they won't get the better of me.

In short he claims he had the nod from EA top clear one arch of the road bridge which was blocked to help during flood conditions.

He said he had other work to do on the river as well and that the agency gave him verbal consent.

Local villagers are supporting Mr Jones who say's the work was an attempt to prevent flooding cottages nearby.

Natural England, Hereford Wildlife Trust , Forestry Commission and every man and his dog are on the case demanding retribution.   Hereford Wildlife Trust as mentioned before keep banging on about the Lugg as being of national importance. really.   Perhaps she means the study of the high phosphate levels!!!

One suspects a long drawn out fight where everyone gets tired of it in the end and forgets the whole thing.  We shall see.    He's not going away that's for sure!!!
