Well nothing reported from yesterday, so far anyway.  River really seems to be in the doldrums and not getting any better by the day.
Some concern over the swan population regarding the lack of rununculus and other weed.   Though they can sometimes be a nuisance they are part of the river scene and don't deserve to starve to death.  Some young are said to have disappeared already and many adults are in the fields.  Has anyone seen any dead ones.    Perhaps some people, who shall be nameless, may well treat them the same as road kill which at least means they don't entirely go to waste.!!!

With today's coarse fishing tactics so removed from those of my youth I saw a device advertised on Faebook that makes todays tactics even more of a mockery.   Many are used to seeing barbel anglers,  with a couple rods pointed skywards fishing boilies on a 3/4oz\ bolt rig.  Fish takes, hooks itself, they put down their beer cans and pick up the rod and simply reel it in.
Now it seems there is a device that actually reacts to a bite with a decent strike too   A spring loaded device fitted to the rod rest is loaded and a small lever protruding from it is clipped behind by the reel line directly to the bait.  A fish takes, releases the spring and the rod jerks sharply upwards to complete the hooking process with the rod still firmly attached to the rod rest awaiting the anglers attention.     If that's fishing I must be missing something or maybe just a dinosaur, yea righ, probably the later.

Some action by the Police and NRW at last.  Why not on the Wye one wonders -if its actually happening of course.

May already have posted this one -  Worth a second look anyway.
