Not much change in conditions, just a little rain here and there.  Reports of the odd smaller fish, grisle, now showing downriver so perhaps these smaller fish will make better progress upstream.

There are fish above Monmouth!!!!    This eleven pounder taken  by Gerry Oddie yesterday, on his Birthday, from the Golden Mile on a green butt Cascade.      Congratulations Gerry.

A newspaper cutting regarding yesterdays poaching picture;
I understand that anyone caught in those days in the Radnorshire/\Lllandrindod area usually got away with it as the clerk to the court and in some cases the magistrates were complicit in what went on and even afraid if repercussions if they found anyone guilty   Usually rowdy back up from the public benches too.

One bailiff told me they never won a case In Llandrindod Wells and never lost one in Builth Wells!!!

I would like to acknowledge the fact that ALL the recent photographs of big fish, poachers and interesting items of the past has been the result of George Woodward kindly forwarding them to me to be used in this way.  They have been collected over many years and deserve to be preserved for those anglers who will carry on after us that is if there is a river left with any salmon in it..
