Nothing to report again. Much the same scenario, no water, algae, not many fish. However we did have a splash of rain and lower temperatures.  Met Office can't seem to make their mind up but looks like May and June have just switched around  for this year.   Wonder what happens next but it seems to me we are witnessing the death throes of this great river, certainly as regards its salmon fishing.
Will the call for bold and urgent action be answered  or stifled by endless, meetings, consutations and prevarications.   Somehow we must get the powers that be by the  b==ls and wring some action out of them before it's too late..

Got access to my own computer for a while yesterday and found these two photo's    If you recall they relate to my trip years ago to fish for Nile perch on lake Nasser.    Below is one of the, lets face it, pretty moderate Nile Perch we caught  They can reach 6feet in length and weigh 300lbs. We went in February as I recall.  Thier winter too and as you can see from the fleece's it was not that warm, at least for the locals.  Mostly it was like a nice summer day in the UK but withthe lake so vast there was always a breeeze which often made things cool.
The guys on the boat in the picture  were from the mother ship but are seated on one of the trolling boats on which we fished and slept.  The local with the flash sunglasses was our trolling boat skipper-nice guy..   Not the right time of year to get the best out of it as we found out.   Even on this vast water there were problems with over netting for Tilapia but inevitably other fish including the Perch were caught too.  Same the world over it seems.
