Nothing reported yesterday in the way of catches. Just a touch of water in the river and a little ckeaer downstream.  Prospects look pretty grim for most areas apart from the very bottom beats.

I see the canoe center below Glasbury bridge is up for sale through the Agents Saville's.  I wonder if prospective buyers will be informed that this operation is illegal as there is no right of navigation from that property downstream to Hay on Wye.or will they continue in defiance of the right of navigation  with the authorities unwilling for some reason to enforce it.   Be interesting to see what happens.   I will certainly be informing them.

Events in the garden this week showed nature in the raw alright   Carrion crow robbing wood pidgeons eggs, same crow entering a really thick fir tree and dragging out two wood pidgeon chicka almost fully fledged and pecking their heads off.   Yound blackbirds unable to fly decimated too,
Mallards with 8 young gradually losing one per day and sgtrangely of all a nest box with seveen chicks which gradually reduced to one and this one was found dead in the nest yesterday.  Parents were very active in feeding them but for some reason they all dies.  Can't see any reason why other than perhaps a contaminated food supply?  Any ideas?
