I see WUF have confirmed that the recently discovered beaver was in fact living above the gorge on the Bach Howey but did they know about it before or only after it was found dead? We shall never know - there never share any information with us about anything quite frankly.

Someone's take on the recent EA meeting re regulations for next year. very similar to that of NRW?
They don't seem to realise either that compulsory C& R is a busted flush and on its own will achieve nothing. As for what else they have to offer - well thats NOTHING,
Just got back from the EA meeting. To all who have replied to the consultation and those who are about to, save your breath !
Today the EA announced that compulsory catch and release will come into force on all rivers in England, barring 10 that are classified as not at risk !
We were only given the Tyne, Wear and Severn as examples of not at risk.
I'm not aware of how you find out how your local river is classified, but as I said in the original thread its game over, especially in the North West, the Lune, Derwent, Ribble, Ehen, Eden and Border Esk all compulsory catch and release for salmon !
The new legislation may come into force in April, with an announcement and press release in late February, or the EA say it might not come into force until 2019 ???
An absolute farce for any clubs or owners trying to sell tickets for the 2018 season !
The EA tried to explain they were the anglers friend, if this is so then fight for the angler, pollution, predation by birds and better river management are all things that the EA could push forward instead of beating anglers again and again !
Sorry for the bad news and I'm no fishmonger, it's the principle of having the choice removed !
