River more stable and only dropping slowly ans still high for many beats.. Still with colour downstream of course but clearing slowly on the upper beats.  Several fish reported from Gromaine and llanstephan not usually considered high water beats and nowhere else apparently. strange thing this fishing\!!!!

Should be fish from beats at the top end of the river unless further showers add any more water or colour,

LATE report from 24th June  Two fish from beat 2 at Whitney to Peter Allen. Spinning

Fish caught today/
Rectory 8lb gravel catch to Grant Holmes
John Lawton 12 and 12 1/2 from the Rock Pool
Joe Cobley 15lbs on fly from Llanstephan
Reg Lawton reports a 13lb fish from Ty- Newydd on a cascade.

Transgressions by the ever increasing number of canoeists continues to escalate with ever increasing numbers using the river on a yearly basis.   Some of these people camp overnight on the banks and often have fishing rods with them  5 were recently found fishing among a party of about 15 who had hidden canoes in a maize field on the Whitney beat. Not for the first time either that camping has taken place there..  Were aggressive when asked to move off which they reluctantly eventually did. They were apparently eastern Europeans  (And before anyone asks does that make a difference -NO that's just the fact).
Someone, somewhere has to get a grip on a situation which is becoming untenable in many areas and will only get worse unless some form of control is exercised.  Some hope perhaps.
