River still dropping away pretty fast and a few dry days forecast.  Looks like the lower beats are still the place to be with no evidence so far of many fish making it upriver in any numbers.

100 fish in off the tide at bigswier means one per mile upstream assuming they keep travelling.  It takes a pile of fish to fill this river.  'Someone recently said 'bit like the old days'.  Not if your on the upper river its not.  Wye as far as Newbridge would have been well stocked by now in days gone by with perhaps 200 plus caught above Builth.   So far just a couple is it!!   No it's nothing like the old days.

Two fish from the Nyth today and one lost 23.5lb and 8/9lbs to Matt Oliver on a Cascade. See bigger fish below
