Many beats are on the rise though considering the amount of rain in some areas yesterday evening, especially around Hereford its of fairly modest proportion.   It seem the downpours were localised with some areas escaping, notably the whole of the upper river from Builth Wells upstream where conditions remain low.Around Hay colour is pretty good and the river freshened up.  Wether it's been enough to move fish around is debatable at the mioment.  More heavy showers are forecast for much of the area today and the lower river looks likely to be the worst affected. However without more rain spate should run off quickly without backup from the upper river.

Sea fishing trip went well with a good bunch of guys from Brecon area in the Severn estuary off Penarth with a good mix of species, including conger, blond rays, smalleyed ray, thornback, smoothound, spurdog and bull huss etc. No rain there to speak off just fog and a flat calm.
