High water continues on the Wye making for difficult spawning conditions on the main stem and major tributaries in particular.   We may not it now  seems get a good idea of just what spawning has or will take place and how successful it was, likewise the survival of fry and parr.

Seems the attention has now switched to the north and Cumbria and the  Eden in particular where conditions are indeed dire. Still always a bright side as all the farmers rubbish will get deposited out of sight and all the sewage works will clean out their tanks and anyone else with something nasty to dispose of will do the same. Much rubbish and debris will be deposited on the high water mark meaning cue another litter picking exercise.
