Seems there was just the one fish yesterday. 8lbs from Legge Meadow to Don Macer Wright.
Nothing seen or caught yesterday on the lowest beats despite reports of 2sw fish being seen, though mostly from the usual source one has to admit.
Under the present conditions the lower river should be doing much better.
LATEST. 10lb fly caught fish from Wyesham today apparently.
The two fish reported at Ingeston on Friday were both caught by regular Mike Pritchard spinning. He now has five for the season.
Small shoals of smolts have been seen migrating recently at Hereford and below Ross down to the tide.
Some people are easily satisfied -saw this comment on one of the forums; Says it all really when seeing a couple of fish or getting a 'significant pull,' a huge pull or a ' tightening' even is worth a mention.. Sad times we live in!!
"Very quiet today..but what an amazing day to be on the river which was very much alive! Saw two fish, that's it."

Parliamentary Bass Champions Awards
On the eve of
the General Election the Angling Trust has acknowledged the 'sterling work'
of seven MPs from the Conservative, Labour and LibDem parties in pressing
for measures to save threatened bass stocks. The MPs have all been raising
the bass issue in debates in the House of Commons, by tabling parliamentary
questions and in direct representations to ministers.

Leading the Way
for Migrant Angler Communities
"It can be hard to be a migrant
angler who always fishes by the rules but get tarred by the same brush as
others who continue to poach."

Take A Friend
Fishing
Have you ever
challenged your other half to a fishing match? Our own Regional Officer James Roche
did and writes "I
took the opportunity to take my wife Elizabeth fishing over the Easter
weekend and whilst I took victory for catching the most fish, Liz's common
carp secured victory in the biggest fish challenge."
How about taking a non-angler fishing this weekend? |

Fish Legal Call
On SEPA to Protect Clyde Salmon
Pictured
Left: Small sample of the total amount of fish killed in 2013 that have
been dumped in a skip
Fish Legal
has sent a legal notification under the Environmental Liability Directive
to Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) asking that they take
immediate action against Scottish Water, to stop a repeat of the
devastating 2013 sewage pollution incident on the lower Clyde that killed
up to 20% of the entire Clyde salmon run.
Fish Legal
has discovered that a major factor in 2013 fish kill was poor operating
practice at Scottish Water's (SW) Dalmarnock sewage treatment works, one of
Glasgow's largest. In particular the poor state of Dalmarnock's storm tank
facilities has resulted in frequent emissions of raw sewage into the Clyde.
SW's Dalmarnock
licence requires it to have event monitors that record the duration and
frequency of sewage spills into the Clyde. Unfortunately SEPA has chosen
not to enforce this condition, and so we suspect that Dalmarnock sewage
treatment works is pumping raw sewage into the Clyde much more frequently
than the regulator realises.
Fish Legal
solicitor Robert Younger is pressing for action. |

Fish Legal
& Angling Trust Respond to Water Framework Directive Consultation
Fish Legal,
the Angling Trust and WWF, have jointly submitted a response to the
Environment Agency’s consultation on the second cycle of draft River Basin
Management Plans.
The consultation was an opportunity for the organisations to assess the
Government’s performance and whether it had achieved its commitments in the
‘Statement of Position’ - agreed commitments which resulted from legal
action taken by Fish Legal, Angling Trust and WWF against the Environment
Agency in 2010 - regarding the then new plans.
