Wuf Instructional days. Hmm!!   Imitation is the best form of flatery but some do it for free.

Good value for the trout fishing with a free membership to Lugg and Arrow Associations though- not much take up on day tickets obviously.

Spey Casting, Tenkara and Wild Streams!

22nd January, 2015

Three events that are being run in 2015 to help you get the most out of your fishing. The first of these is on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th of April when AAPGAI qualified instructors Illtyd Griffiths and Jonathan Morris will be hosting a two-day Spey Casting Course on the banks of the upper Wye. The intensive course is for anglers of any ability. Limited to four anglers, you will receive plenty of individual tuition. Please see here for more details of costs and how to book your place.
On Sunday 17th May a Wild Streams Open Day will be held on the banks of the river Lugg at the Riverside Inn, Aymestrey. Suitable for all levels of experience, the day will give participants the opportunity to enjoy the delights and challenges of fly-fishing on some of the Wild Stream beats, and to share experiences with fellow anglers, local enthusiasts, experts and guides in an informal setting. For more details and to book a place, please see here.
Tenkara style fishing has become increasingly popular in the past few years and looking at the catch returns, it's quite effective too! A Tenkara Fishing Day will be held on Sunday 5th July, again at the Riverside Inn, Aymestrey. The day will give you the opportunity to enjoy the delights and challenges of Tenkara fishing on some of the Lugg and Arrow beats.
For those that like to secure their fishing in advance, season rods for a number of Wye & Usk beats are available, some of which are not fishable on a day ticket. Some of these rods are let on a more traditional day per week basis, others are more flexible and allow you to fish any day of the week. For more details on season rods, please click here.
