Yesterdays rain proved rather more persistant than expected and consequently there is a rise of about a foot on the upper river from the Ithon, which rose quite sharply, downstream through Builth and Erwood.  I expect it to hold considerable colour as it normally does.  River rising at Glasbury and Moccas but downstream beats may well escape the rise until tomorrow.

Whilst expecting some colour I was unprepared for the state of the upper river today.  It was thick enough to choke a crocodile.  The Ithon did its job with a vengeance although the rise was only small.  Irfon was up a little but reasonably clear.  Colour may lessen as it goes down stream but would expect it to be out of order for a day or two at least with not a great head of water to push it through..
