Canal
and River Trust Asking for Views on Towpath Use
The
Canal and River Trust are currently consulting on how towpaths are shared to
make visiting waterways more enjoyable for everyone. Their aim is to improve
people’s experience of using towpaths in England and Wales by gaining a more
detailed understanding of the ways towpaths are used - whether by boaters,
walkers, joggers, cyclists or anglers - and to attract more visitors to
regularly use and enjoy the waterways.

There is an online petition about the parking restrictions and we encourage all
anglers to show solidarity with the club by "signing" the petition here.

Dismayed at Environment Agency Decision Not to Prosecute Polluter
A
series of explosions and fires at a nearby factory led to serious chemical
pollution of the Todmorden Angling Society’s Grove Lodge fishing pool, killing
hundreds of fish. However, the Environment Agency (EA) investigation was beset
by delays, eventually leading to a decision not to prosecute, despite evidence
of significant fish mortalities and environmental offences being committed.
