Fish of 15lbs reported yesterday by one of the syndicate members on Whitney court beat 3.  Spinning.

Latest.    Still only the one fish reported from yesterday and nothing so far today.  Plenty of rods have been out in ideal conditions on the upper river and most seem to have seen absolutely nothing. Many long standing rods are finding it hard to believe  the current lack of fish given the conditions.
We seem to have two schools of anglers on the Wye now. Those who have some experience of the river and those new to it who do not,
The sight of a 20lb fish to the latter is a rapturous thing, fair enough, but then they go overboard telling us how good the river is. For one such  see below;

"The water levels have been a bit iffy this last week or so. Coming good now.

I can't wait for my next chance to get out. last time I netted a 23lber for a mate and his PB. Talked to plenty of Wye anglers. Nobody has mentioned stocking or SNR. They just want to fish this improving river.

The doom and gloomers on this forum don't reflect Wye salmon angling. "

Not sure what Wye anglers he is talking too but he won't get many plaudits from the Wye anglers I know at the moment but it's understandable I suppose coming from a previous Severn angler new to the river but quick to tell us all how good it is. A new PB of all things!.  He needs to be reminded that some once famous beats on this river never had a fish all season and at the moment it's possible they may not do so again.
The question most anglers are asking at the moment Severn angler is simply "Where are the fish"?
