River levels are dropping but only slowly just for once but there is still a little too much on for the upper river and certainly too much for the middle and lower beats.  Clearing well on the uppermost beats and we may hear of a fish from there in the next day or so, assuming any have reached there of course.  Trout season now in force of course though in truth they seem to get caught all year round these days if not on the fly then by bait.  Some welsh water reservoirs open too.
