Conditions remain good and more fish should be reported today, especially from the lower river.
Latest/
Hereford and D>AA water. Vineyard Stream, 12lbs
Luggs Mouth 14lbs
Seven Sisters. 15lbs. All spinning
MAY I TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO STATE THAT THE WEIGHTS OF FISH ON THIS SITE, SOME OF WHICH ARE REPORTED TO WUF, ARE IN OUR OPINION ESTIMATES ONLY. SOME ARE THE RESULT OF ESTIMATES FROM MEASUREMENT, BUT MOST IT SEEMS ARE SPECULATIVE AT BEST. FISH THAT ARE ACTUALLY WEIGHED WILL BE STATED AS SUCH.
I am not suggesting fish should be removed from the water longer than necessary however and it may not be practical to weigh a fish under certain circumstances. A photograph would be of interest to others though and one would have thought a fitting momento of a big fish, possibly the fish of a lifetime. Apparently not!!.
(Good to see you access the website regularly Cranefly!)
Below are pictures of the gravel bar built up across the river below Glasbury I previously mentioned. Little prospect of salmon being able to access above here at current water height to the upper river.
First picture shows the left hand bank facing upstream -the second shows the bar continuing up to the right hand bank. At least 100yds long. Higher water may yet cut a channel through it - the far right hand side being the likely option but the shallow depth remains a long way back from the rim..
Its the canoeists I feel sorry for - Not!!!!!!!!!!!
