Still a lot of water lying around but the river is steadily dropping now, especially on the upper beats.  Quite what anglers might find when they get to the river again is anyone's guess as conditions will be treacherous in many places.

No doubt some hardy soul will try his luck before the weekend on upper beats but will there be anything there, that is the question?

Sad news indeed;

WSA are sad to report Lindsay Reynolds has died after a long illness.
Lindsay will be certainly known by a great many Wye and Usk fishermen as a great fisherman and a gentleman. Though he fished mainly the lower beats of the Wye such as Bigsweir and all along the Usk he had fished all over the world and maintained that the best salmon he ever caught were the Wye salmon.
He was born and brought up on the banks of the Wye at Llandogo and fished the  river for over 65 years.
He was a member of Gwent Anglers and indeed a past chair.
