Seems the first fish of the season  from our neighbouring river, the Severn was caught this morning.    A fish of 17lbs from Diglis on a Devon minnow by John Love.   Pity we are denied the same.

Seems that a hotel in Cardiff is advertising smoked Severn and Wye salmon on its menu.
In view of the fact the EA are still allowing a fishery on the lower Severn to still take fish this season even though it has been shown that this is a mixed stock fishery with Wye and Usk fish predominating in it's catch.  On this basis seems the Hotel may not be wrong in it's asserstions.
Couldn't make it up really could you.
