Good weather and river conditions resulted in a big turnout for the WSA casting clinic held by the WSA at Whitney yesterday.   The casting course was fully booked with others attending for a chance to meet friends old and new.   The was an excellent barbeque, free tea and coffee, flies for sale and a couple of raffles. Gary Evans and Sportfish companies were present were present with tackle with some considerable bargains to be had.
Around 80 people attended with several travelling long distances to be present. for what was a good day out.
Several anglers reported possible sightings of springers seen further downriver.
Thanks to Whitney Court for the use of the venue which I understand produced a 34lb pike earlier in the week.  Hope to get a photograph shortly.
