NRW   Unfit for purpose.

Subject: Letter to CEO of NRW re bylaw proposals

All,
Having got nowhere with my requests for a meeting with the Welsh Government Cabinet Secretary (Lesley Griffiths) or her Minister for the Environment (Hannah Blythyn) and with the help of others I have drafted the attached letter to Clare Pillman who is now the Chief Executive of NRW in an attempt to arrange a meeting in order to put forward alternatives to the proposed bylaws (Gough/Mee).  It was suggested by Gary Davies (Merthyr Tydfil Anglers) that this should be signed by supporting clubs.  Obtaining signatures at this time of year may take some time.  As a compromise I have listed those who have been supporting the action that John Eardley, Reuben Woodford and me have been doing on behalf of the Welsh anglers.  If you don’t want your club/association listed please let me know and I will remove it from the list.
Feel free to circulate the letter; hopefully we will get our meeting with the CEO, hopefully without Gough/Mee present.
I am not sure if you have seen that Chris Evans MP has written to Lesley Griffiths complaining that NRW is not fit for purpose http://www.southwalesargus.co.uk/news/16373951.islwyn-mp-chris-evans-calls-for-review-into-failed-natural-resources-wales/  – we need to keep the pressure on if we are going to get anywhere with NRW as it seems that they are under pressure from several sources.  There is an interesting comment on how much Diane McCrea received as she wasn’t sacked but left by mutual agreement i.e. a golden goodbye.

A little rain this afternoon, enough for a puddle or two.  More promised but will it happen. If it's anough for a spate the first one will sure to be absolutely filthy.
