River falling well on the upper beats, just about peaked at Ross but not really reached Monmouth yet.
Weather looks set fai so should be no problems and the upper river should fish this weekend. Still a bad colour around the Hay on Wye area.
Just out of interest saw this on the fly fishing Forum from WUFs director, Simon Evans;
"As a man who fished a good bit of the Tyne for 12 years in early September catching enough salmon and big seatrout to keep me coming back I can honestly say that the last few years the beats I fish on the Wye are as good/better in terms of fish/hr and about half the price! "

Considering he fishes the best beats on the river I would still be very interested in man hours per fish especially on the now heavily fished Rectory/Llanstephan beats where overcrowding issues occur.
Even more interesting would be the man hours per fish on many of the less productive beats or even the heavily fished lower beats below Monmouth.
