Well so far just one fish reported off the river yesterday.  Charles Roy taking a 42" fish. est 24lb from Courtfields Thomas Wood on a rapaland that's unbelievable it at the moment anyway.
Plus another;
Foy Bridge Pool.  8lb fish for Jim Morrison on a Willie Gunn

LATEST.  Some better news inasmuch as Bigsweir had a fish on fly on Monday and 6 yesterday apparently5 of them on F/C.    No further details

Having mentioned the WUF Office yesterday see below for its new location.   An old bank!!! Sort of appropriate really when you stop and think about it. Problem is it looks the sort of building with a sign over the door saying  'Abandon all hope ye who enter here'.
Surely there was an abandoned church or chapel available somewhere.!!!!

As for the Nant Einig nearby looks like it's having two weirs taken out. Really. Just to say another kilometer has been 'restored'  Complete waste of time and money but what the hell when you have a bank.

WUF Update

3rd May 2017

New Offices
We are on the move again! New offices have been created from the old Nat West bank in Talgarth. We will now have a large meeting room in addition to the space we had before. The restoration includes double glazing, photo voltaic generation on the new roof and of course plenty of insulation.
This takes us into the middle of the town and in close proximity to the mill and coffee shop, as well Talgarth's famed food shops. We will be right next to the Nant Einig which runs through the town. Salmon and trout spawn here but usually only as far as the two weirs on the road bridge downstream. Expect this to change before too long!
The offices will be open for viewing for all from 1.00pm 8th May and Talgarth's Owen Sheers will be formally opening the offices at 4.30pm. Please join us if you are in the area.
Newsletter
Both the Newsletter and Passport will be with you very shortly as they are now being printed. Yes, we are late this year but possibly this is our biggest newsletter yet!
Wild Stream Open Days 2017
There are still a few spaces left on the hugely popular Lugg and Arrow Fisheries Association's Wild Stream Open Day on the 13th May. This year's event will be run from the Radnorshire Arms in Presteigne and will again feature some of the Lugg and Arrow's top wild stream beats. This is an opportunity to get to grips with some of the smaller and trickier sections of river, with tips and guidance from local volunteer experts that have been fishing on some of these beats for years. While novices are welcome, this event is more suited to those that have fly-fished before, as it's not solely casting instruction but a day spent with volunteer guides.
And for those that get the bug, there is an optional second day of self-guided fishing for an extra £10, so you can try out some of the tips you picked up the day before.
All of the fishing will be in the area local to Presteigne, and includes some of the best wild stream fishing on offer. For those wishing to come from further afield, there is plenty of accommodation nearby, with more details on the Fishing Passport website.
For all the details and to book a place go to http://www.wyeuskfoundation.org/news/events.php or call the booking office on 01874 712074

Our monthly fishing reports will be out posted shortly
