Upper river now falling away and very clear, rain forecast Saturday may add needed colour. Plenty of kelts reported in middle river beats around Bredwardine with some fresh running fish seen at Wyesham   and Garnons. Prospects fair in middle and upper river with best bet for a fish below Monmouth but don't be surprised if first fish of the season is recorded above Glasbury. Good water conditions should encourage anglers to fish a fly..............doubles and barbless please.
A number of salmon anglers spotted on river today, it seems start of season is misunderstood......it's 3rd of March not 1st guys!
