Well it's a nice day for it as they say but unfortunately the river had other ideas and rose again overnight upriver by about 18 inches or so and starting to affect the lower beats.  Colour is not good for sure but I expect some will try their luck so who knows = hope springs eternal!!!

LATEST    Just been over the river at Hay.  Nasty colour - not much joy out of the Wye today for sure..---------------------------------------------------

For salmon anglers, the upper sections of both rivers were in reasonable condition for an early cast and there have been reports of springers seen in the upper Wye. However, today’s rain may push both rivers up again and with a mixed forecast, the prospects look a little dicey for the rest of the week at least.
