Am I missing something here or just being picky. See below another report of grayling fishing on the upper Irfon. I think most would agree the Irfon is probably the best of the Wye's spawning tributaries.Nevertheless its seems fine to trample all over it at what should be the peak of the seasons spawning. Salmon are obviously there as a half eaten cock fish was pictured but what the hell we can't loose day ticket money for a couple of weeks for the sake of the salmon to do their business.
A 2lb 40z grayling from here was called a giant. Really?? More here;

Area:Irfon & Ithon
Beat:Melyn Cildu
Fishing:Winter Grayling
No. of Anglers:1
First time on this new beat – a lovely stretch of water with plenty to go at. Access is great from the bottom car park, you can zig-zag your way upstream, in the water for the most part and having to get out into the field when you reach a few of the deeper pools. It was tough going – it seems to be more about quality, than quantity on these beats. Both grayling and one of the OOS trout were over 40cm.
2 Trout, 2 Grayling
