River dropping on the upper beats but still plenty of colour.

Colour doesn't seem to matter regarding the water or the fish  however, see below.

Reckon the fish emphasise the fact that we really shouldn't be fishing this late in the season as both were hen fish and no matter how well they 'swam off' no one knows what damage to their spawning prospects may be.    Ego seems to outweigh any other considerations however despite the critical condition the river is now in.   WUF should end it now if they have a scrap of integrity left.

Llangoed & Lower Llanstephan : Francis Rundall on Monday 4th Oct. One hen salmon caught on Dol-Meudwy in the rain at about 2pm. Good condition though dark, measuring approx 27 inches long, say 10-12 pounds. The river was high and coloured but not muddy.

Abernant : Ellis Brazier on Monday 4th Oct, 11lb coloured hen caught on Red Devil at 4pm before the deluge last night. River totally unfishable today.
