Well a little more water on the upper and middle river but not really enough for anglers though the he canoe armada continues their undiminished..
Going through a pile of correspondence from my time in the Gillies Association I was struck by just how little things had changed from twenty years ago. All the same arguments are much the same as they were then. As an illustration below is a letter I received from the writer, Tony Chattaway and which was sent originally to Major General Hopkinson, the last effective Chairman of the Wye Salmon Owners Association and which he also sent to me.
Tony Chattaway was a lifelong fisherman, stillwater fishery consultant and also worked in the salmon farming industry which he tried to get people to operate land based Aquaculter besides having interests in several Scottish salmon rivers which he campaigned for over many decades.
