Nothing new to report as temperatures both air and water continue to rise and give concern for salmon safety under the low water and touch of algae conditions which seem set until the weekend River is a bit like Disneyland at present with paddle boards enjoying at serious uplift in numbers. Angela Jones and her ilk still seem to enjoy swimming in it and canoes everywhere.
Not much feedback as fa r as I am aware from the Monboit documentary butthen again it depends how many people who can have an influence on events actually saw. Say and do nothing seems to be the situation at present and I suspect only a major fish kill or other similar incident will prompt any action.
On the other hand perhaps there is a light blinking at the end of the tunnel?

Subject: IPU applications rejected by PCC
Something is having an effect…….. Powys CC has just refused Drewern IPU near Hundred House (16K so-called FRE added to existing 16K), something they must have found very painful and would never have done a few months ago. Must be pressure behind the scenes. Also Forest View Appeal (which would have so-called FR layers on range only 7.3% of time) dismissed!Stuart
Also in the pipeline are new prposals from NRW, after a 12 week consultation period with stakeholders (we all know what that means) to renew the mandatory catch and release of all salmon in the River Wye and- whoopee -reduce the salmon season by the extra week the upper river and tributaries once enjoyed.
Real 'lifesaving' stuff imposed once again on anglers but nothing from them as to any other remedial actions to address the appalling stock levels.
