Sorry missed yesterday, Problem is nothing much to report anymore whilst current conditions persist.
Might find this interesting. Some salmon anyway,
Fact is I went to that river couple of decades ago in a small twin engine aircraft owned by my then boss/
It was known then as the Aa. Didn't fish that gorge section just the lower half above its entry into the fjord. A wild little river with a lake a couple of miles upstream where you could see big shoals of salmon presumably waiting to move up the gorge. We never caught much. I the short time I fished I hooked and lost two grilse who appeared to go down and rub the hooks out on the moss laden rocks as both my hooks after loosing the fish came back clogged with it. Never saw another soul for the few days we were there apart from the lodge staff. Very expensive even back then.

===============================================================================
Good hatch of barbel anglers up and down the river which they have pretty much to themselves at the moment with conditions for salmon still dire. Still water murky on the lower beats with just the odd fish seen. The promised rain never materialised and nothing looks likely to change in the near future unless new fish move into the bottom beats and the river clears.

Never say never as they say. A lovely 16lb fish being returned by Roy Cartwright on the Golden Mile.
Sometimes persistence does pay off!!
