Covid restrictions in England Like Wales =what exactly is local Just go Fishing!!!
Once
again we are faced with difficult times and we know that you’ll all be
impacted in different ways by the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and
the current national lockdown. However,
there is some good news regarding angling. The government has
announced that fishing is permitted as a form of exercise within the new
national lockdown in England. For those of you who do take to the banks
during lockdown, it’s really important that you do so while adhering to the
national lockdown rules. This includes only fishing in your local area, while
abiding by social distancing and ensuring you are only fishing with members
of your own household (or support bubble) or one other person. The latest
guidance can be found on GOV.UK. Please
be aware that details of the situation in Wales can be found at Natural Resources Wales. The COVID-19 resource hub on the Angling Trust
website continues to be updated regularly with the latest advice and guidance
for individual anglers, clubs, fisheries and other angling organisations. If you
are heading out to go fishing, please don’t forget to check that your licence
is still valid. If your licence has expired, you can renew your licence at GOV.UK. Remember,
when you buy a licence you are helping support the fantastic work that our
fisheries teams are doing across the country. Where it is safe for our staff
to do so, our work will continue throughout the current lockdown, so our
incident and fisheries laboratory service remain in operation, work at our Calverton Fish Farm will continue and we will
still be carrying out enforcement checks within social distancing rules. Stay
safe. |
