See below from NRW re fishing in Wales -or not as the case may be.  What a complete shambles it all is.  At the end of the day fishing is the safest occupation you could have regarding not catching the virus.
Fish ok on one side off the Wye but not the opposite bank.  It's a nonsense.

Updated 11th May 2020

On Friday 8th May First Minister Mark Drakeford made a statement that there is to be no change to the ‘Stay at Home’ message and guidance on recreational outings in Wales.

This means there is currently no return to fishing in Wales.

The announcement by Prime Minister Boris Johnson on 10th May means that certain outdoor sport and recreational activities including angling will resume in England only(and then subject to certain caveats e.g. on social distancing).

Angling in Wales continues to follow the Stay at Home guidance issued by the Welsh Government.

ARRANGEMENTS IN WALES
The stay-at-home message in Wales has NOT changed:

You should stay at home with the following conditions: -
·        only go outside for food, health reasons or work (but only if is not reasonably practicable to work from home)
·        •stay 2 metres (6ft) away from other people
·        •wash your hands as soon as you get home

Anyone can spread the virus.
“Staying at home is the best way to protect yourself and others.”

The ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak will impact all in different ways. During this time, please follow the latest guidance on the Welsh Government website: https://gov.wales/coronavirus

If you have any concerns over illegal fishing please report this to us on 0300 065 3000 so it can be investigated.

Mentioned Wye pike a week or so again.   Below is a picture of a 29lb plus pike I set up for a friend many years ago now..
I was doing casts but wanted to try skin taxidermy and went with my friend below Hereford to catch a fish to have a go and what did he do.  He caught this 29lb fish.   Anyway I thought I would have a go and it turned out not too bad.  He recently repainted it etc.  Heaven only knows how long ago it was.

This year he has had 10 fish over 20lbs though one was caught twice.   His friends have had some big fish too.  The two photo's below are of the biggest fish he caught  recently, a few ounces over 31lbs.

The two photo's below were kindly sent to me by Andrew Llewellyn with a big pike from Hereford town water opposite the rowing club, a well known spot for big pike and a section crammed with other coarse fish too.  Pike was 28lbs

This is Andrew with a fly caught pike from Chew valley reservoir. 25lbs
