river dropping and clearing well after yesterdays aweful Ithon colour.   Prospects look rather better than for sometime.  Some Upper beat may fish this weekend if there is no further rain.

I see peter gough has a letter in this months Trout and salmon where he seeks to justify the imposition of catch and release throughout Wales.  he then goes on to say these are not the only measures that need addressing.  he does mention 'unacceptable levels of pollution' but gives no inication as to how this will be addressed nor what other measures will be needed.  So compulsory catch and release looks certain -only question is when. There may be other restrictions too.  What a mess!
