Upper river dropping well now and a reasonable height for some beats though still with some  colour.
Banks still snow covered after latest snowfall but temperatures set to rise.  Looking more hopeful shall we say.

Great news, with the very kind permission of the owners, Coedithel, the first beat on the river has been added to our ‘Get More Rods on River Scheme for the 2018 season. There will be two rods on offer at a series of dates to be confirmed shortly. The beat at Llandogo offers fishing in 16 pools including two weirs with plenty of both fly and spinning water.

There is a hut on the beat and two boats will be available when the river levels settle in May. Fishing rights extend to both banks for the entire 2.5 miles of the beat with vehicular access on the right Llandogo village bank and parking available at Brockweir Bridge for access to English [left] bank. Boats can also be used  to access this bank.

Tides influence the beat each day, taking affect at the weir pool at the same time as high water at Sharpness.

The beat, given water and the right tides, catches all season, although it has been very lightly fished over the last 5 or 6 years. A five year average of 19 fish with 43 fish in 2015 does not fully represent the beat potential.

As with our other GMROR beats, maps, directions and rules will be provided at the time of booking.

So watch the link at GMROR Diary for details of dates available.
