I see the newbie to the river and well known internet troll, one Tom Rigby has been at it again on the Salmon Fishing Forum.
On a discussion re 100 C&R he said this;

100% c&r was a political sop to the moaners. You could call it Geoff Franks's greatest achievement.

As with most things of course he is absolutely wrong. I, on behalf of RWGA protested and wrote in opposing the imposition of 100 C&R on the river Wye and its on the public record.
From a purely personal point of view I oppose it still. It's not been shown to work anywhere it's been tried so far in my opinion and was a step too far.
NRW seek to impose it on all Welsh rivers plus I understand the banning of trebles, worm, prawn and shrimp.  They have after all nothing else to offer in terms of river rejuvenation and of course it costs them nothing.
Give it up TOM your credibility is nil!!

Figures are also now available regarding the Wye salmon juvenile data and it makes pretty grim reading. I will publish these after the local LFG meeting on Friday.  Hankies at the ready.
