See attached email from Simon Evans below;   Make of iy what you will.
Be interesting to see thier take on it -wont be their fault though re the poor juvenile returns.
Looks like more access agreements too -no anglers involved obviously and if the past is anything to go by some owners neither.  we shall be stictched up again I suspect.
Suggest you all go to the AGM its the only time you might get an answer - you won't the rest of the time for sure.

The Wye and Usk foundation AM is at the Angel Hotel in Abergavenny on the 4th Nov ay 6.30pm.

The electrofishing results for the Usk and Wye will be presented and be able to take away.  We will also present our conclusions on what might have happened and what should happen going forward and I hope that will stir a good debate.

WUF’s survey (133 Usk sites this year, to complement the 13 NRW sites and completing next week) was hoping to establish a baseline and answer why several Usk tributaries have been performing inexplicably poorly in recent years. Instead we have we are collecting data on a very concerning and important event.

Regarding the canoeing we continue to see voluntary access agreements as the way forward and this remains the Welsh Governments position. Canoe Wales have recognised this and are now constructively engaging in the Wye and Usk access arrangements steering group which met this Monday.

I look forward to seeing you all.

Best wishes

Simon

Strange goings on at Glasbury with new shallow weir created by EA employed workmen apparently attempting to repair bank around water gauge.  All seems a little Heath Robinson and pretty obvious the roof would have caved in if any individual had tried it.  Considerable coloured water below of course -no fishermen advised of the work either by the EA or WUF who apparently knew this was taking place..  Nothing new there then.

Gravel extracted from left bank, piled across the river by diggers giving them a a 'roadway' and  access to the other bank.????????
