River cleared considerably on the upper river where hopefully catches will pick up after the spate, small though it was.

I'm sure some of you who saw today's Countryfile programme were impressed by the tender loving care bestowed on barbel for stocking at the EA,s Calverton Fish farm.  Even to SNR ponds and simulated flows.  Strange that our salmon rearing has always been such a belt and braces affair and that concerns over genetic issues seemingly don't apply to other fish and that robust populations of barbel are deemed to need yet further support.

LATEST   Report of a salmon from Caemawr today.  Alex Thrift 12lbs on fly
Richard Wothers 10lb from lady pool Glanwye.
Possible fish from Builth Town water too.
